The Refugees for Prosperity (RFP) Protection Program promotes the safety, dignity, rights, and well-being of refugees, asylum seekers, returnees, and vulnerable host community members in Uganda. Through prevention, response, advocacy, awareness, and community-based protection initiatives, RFP works to ensure that displaced populations can live free from violence, discrimination, exploitation, and abuse while accessing the services and opportunities they need to rebuild their lives.
Forced displacement often exposes individuals and families to multiple protection risks, including gender-based violence, child abuse, harmful traditional practices, exploitation, legal barriers, and mental health challenges. RFP provides holistic protection services that strengthen resilience, promote inclusion, and empower communities to protect their most vulnerable members.

RFP promotes the safety and well-being of children by supporting child safeguarding, positive parenting, child rights awareness, prevention of abuse and exploitation, and referrals for children at risk.
The program provides psychosocial awareness sessions, peer support, psychological first aid, counseling referrals, and community activities that promote emotional well-being and resilience.
RFP offers legal information, guidance on refugee rights, documentation support, and referrals to qualified legal aid providers and relevant government institutions.
Community volunteers and refugee leaders are trained to identify protection risks, provide awareness, and support timely referrals for individuals requiring specialized assistance.
RFP conducts door-to-door outreach, community dialogues, awareness campaigns, and educational sessions on human rights, refugee protection, peaceful coexistence, and available protection services.
The organization strengthens the capacity of community leaders, volunteers, youth groups, and refugee committees through training on protection principles, safeguarding, accountability, and community engagement.
RFP advocates for the protection, inclusion, and meaningful participation of refugees and asylum seekers in decision-making processes, while promoting equal access to services, justice, education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities.
