At Refugees for Prosperity (RFP), we believe every refugee and displaced person deserves safety, dignity, and access to justice. Our Protection & Advocacy program exists to defend the rights of refugees and vulnerable host community members, and to ensure their voices are heard by the systems meant to protect them.

What We Do

• Legal Information & Support – We provide refugees with accessible information about their rights and the legal processes that affect their status, safety, and daily lives, helping them navigate an often unfamiliar and complex system.
• Case Management – Our team works directly with individuals and families facing protection concerns, offering personalized support to identify their needs and connect them with the right resources and services.
• Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Response – We offer protection services, referrals, and support for survivors of gender-based violence, working to create safer environments for women, girls, and all vulnerable community members.
• Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) Prevention – Through community engagement and advocacy, we work to end harmful practices like FGM and protect the wellbeing of young girls and women.

Why It Matters

Displacement often leaves refugees vulnerable to exploitation, violence, and exclusion from the legal protections they are entitled to. Many arrive with little understanding of their rights in a new country, and even less access to the systems that could help them. RFP bridges that gap — standing beside refugees as advocates, educators, and allies as they seek safety and justice.

We identify the most pressing protection concerns through direct engagement with community leaders and refugees themselves, ensuring our advocacy work is grounded in the real, lived experiences of the people we serve. Every solution is developed in partnership with the community — because lasting protection is built together, not imposed from outside.
